To My Son

Hello,
Fist off let me Thank you so very much for this websight! It is a wonderful
thing you have going here. I married my newly navy man when I was just 17 yrs
old, we immediately moved to our first duty station. I was 17 newly married
and moving fro the home I had always known in Memphis to this place called
Lemoore California. Boy I learned early on: "the military makes their own
family". I stayed as close to my family as I could being the distance between
us. I had my son away from home also. then a daughter came along. Many years
we lived several different places.... I remember my kids singing: "On the
road again after we once again, packed up to move".
When my son had a hard time with a deployment I tried to help. I had been a
stay at home Mom for many years, I started working a few months before his
deployment. My son was devastated he told me once, " you work to get away
from us like dad did when he went away on cruise," so I sat down one night
and copied down the thoughts that were running around my head. this is what I
came up with to help my son. PLS put it in your poetry section. It sure
helped him a ton!

    To My Son

  On this day
You don't understand
But one day son
You'll be a man
Then you will know
Why I must go
To Protect you son!
I love you so!      Kathy Hull
