When you left

When you left

When you left all in the world was right
There were no wars for you to go fight
When you left I was prepared
Now I feel so lonely and scared
When you left I knew you would return
Now to be in your arms I yearn
When you left I tried not to cry
When the planes hit I cried and said why?
When you left I knew which day you'd come home
Now I just wonder how far you will roam
When you left I had to be strong
Now so much in the world has just gone wrong
When you left our worlds weren't so far apart
But now I wonder where to start
So I sit here hoping and praying at night
God will watch you and make it all right.
That is what I have prayed every night since
When you left.
